Pawaka has transmitted fire and energy, the Berlin-based Pawaka eyewear brand is conceptualized by the Indonesian designer, model, actress and environmental activist, Fahrani Empel (Fa ‘). Pawaka was officially launched in 2015, presenting a collection in limited acetate for the FW15 exclusively with The Store x Soho House, Berlin and Henrik Vibskov Boutique, Copenhagen and New York.In recent years, the vision of the Fa in eyewear design has been welcomed with enthusiasm by international media, editorial campaigns, supported by great celebrities; and selected by Vogue on their annual list of “200 emerging designers to watch” globally in 2015. Pop culture science fiction references run alongside what Pawaka is already known for – dramatic edges and wonderfully exaggerated shapes – to create something unique Made by hand in Italy, strong in structure, but simple and minimalist in details, the inspiration of the collection lies in the evolution, philosophy and modernity of Native Americans.
